Bio of the Author
Yu Xiu, born in Suzhou City, China. A lifetime member of the Chinese Overseas Women's Writers Association as well as the Canadian Chinese Writers Association. Currently, she lives in Vancouver, Canada. She was known as a campus poet in 1980s and went on to win many rewards from her poems, TV documentaries and news reports. Her works have been collected by 40 different types of literary corpus. “A Shanghai Lady and Her Afternoon Tea” & “A Shanghai Lady in Vancouver” were her two bestselling books which greatly impacted many readers.
Bio of the Translator
Dr. Jan Walls is a Professor Emeritus in the Humanities Department at Simon Fraser University, where he taught Chinese language and cross-cultural communication. He has been publishing translations of medieval and modern Chinese poetry since 1970.
